The Residents have been around longer than I have been into music! In the early days of video I discovered.... and NOT on MTV.... this very strangest arty, scary, totally interesting band that has never in it's nearly 6 decades of existence revealed the identities of its members!.
According to Wikipedia : "The Residents are an American art collective and art rock band best known for their avant-garde music and multimedia works. Since their first official release, Meet the Residents (1974), they have released over 60 albums, numerous music videos and short films, three CD-ROM projects, and ten DVDs over the course of over half a century."
Below I have included a couple of those early videos that made me a fan...and made me question my mental stability at times.. This stuff is STRANGE...but so amazingly entertaining!
I finally got my chance to see The Residents 8 years ago on this date at The Belly Up in Solana Beach. It was worth the wait- visually and musically it was as I thought it would be. Totally strange and totally entertaining.
The Residents were definitely a Bucket List Band that I actually got to check off that list.
